C.C. Mohamed Kassim S/o Chinnava Rawther was born in Chalakudy in the year 1917 . After finishing his Secondary Examinations in Government High School, one of the first schools of Chalakudy he went to St. Thomas College, Thrissur for higher secondary and later joined for B.A. Literature. Unfortunately before completing his final examination, he was compelled to come back to look after his elder brother’s business because of the sudden illness of his brother, who died shortly after that.
He grew up as an eminent man in Chalakudy and was popularly called as Vellappa Rowthar. He suddenly became the most prominent Business man in Chalakudy and formed CCMK group with his four sons as partners and established a number of companies in various fields. |

His activities also included the expansion of CCMK group to encompass other states of India, apart from his other numerous economic investments in the region.As Kassim was a well informed Islamic scholar and was the Chairman of Chinnava trust, Chalakudy. In addition to His good relation with Islamic scholars Kassim enjoyed extremely close and purposeful relationships with important leaders and businessmen in Kerala. He was also very close to prominent political leaders of India. Kassim was also known as beneficent man and his Charities read a number of institutions and orphanages. The unexpected death of his wife Mahaboob Beevi in 1991 was a shock in his life and he suddenly slowed down to Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.
During his last years, it was his dream to fulfill his long cherished desire to provide state of art health care facility for the people of Chalakudy. Because of peculiar circumstances the hospital he started in 1978 for the people of Chalakudy was out of his hand and struggled a lot to regain. In this situation, he formed Chinnava Medical Research Foundation in the year 1996 and started Skin Care Center for his son Dr. C.M. Harid and later in the year 1997 created Mahaboob Diagnostic Center in the name of his beloved Wife. |
